The Body Shop Reading Blogger Event

A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be invited to my local Body Shop for their VIP Blogger Event. A collection of local bloggers and influencers were gathered in the Oracle, Reading branch to celebrate the launch of of a handful of gorgeous new products for summer. The Body Shop is the home of my favourite beauty staples (their make up brushes, the The Tea Tree 3-in-1 Wash Scrub Mask, Aloe Soothing Moisturise Lotion, a facial SPF & the Chamomile Cleansing Butter, a makeup remover that removes even the most stubborn of waterproof mascaras) and I was excited to hear about their new arrivals.

Once warmly welcomed, we got our names printed on cute anti-animal testing stickers to wear as a name badge, produced by the sticker machine normally used for personalising Body Butters. After everyone was stickered up, we listened to a brief presentation, introducing us to the Body Shop. A bit of trivia for you: TBS was established in 1976 and has branches in 66 countries to date. I was also super happy to learn that the brand is no longer owned by Loreal and that their current parent company, Natura, is cruelty free which I love and since this takeover, The Body Shop have been working on the inclusion of more vegan products (they have a "Vegan Products" page on their website for a clear list of vegan-friendly bits, something not enough brands do)
Next up, in-house beauty expert Izzy then did a gorgeous, subtle but oh so glowy makeup demo on Alyssia because it is summer after all and showcased the versatility of the Shimmer Waves, a generous sized pan, made up of 5 different colours, available in three different colourways and can be used on the eyes or cheeks to illuminate.
The show stoppers of the night were the brand new body yoghurts, face mists and the Go Bananas campaign. The all-vegan yoghurts are body moisturisers which, as the name suggest, have a yoghurt-like consistency and therefore thinner than the likes of their rich body butters. What's super impressive about these babies is that 1) you can apply these whilst your body is still damp and 2) are absorbed into the skin in an impressive 15 seconds. Oh, and they smell divine too, available in strawberry, moringa, mango, almond milk, coconut and banana scents.
I love a facial spray, especially during the heatwave we've been having. The Body Shop's offerings come in 5 variants, all serving a different purpose/aimed at different skin types including the much-needed Mint Mattifying and Coco Calming Spray. They are suitable for all-year round use and I can see myself reaching for the moisturising one to perk my skin up in the cold, Winter months.
It was so lovely to catch up with some familiar faces and do a little networking. A big thank you to The Body Shop and of course, Wagamama for a fun evening! I can't wait to dig into my goodie bag!
