Barry M "Prickly Pear", "Sugar Apple" & "Fondant" Nail Polish Review

It's been a while since I did a nail post, or even a beauty post for that matter. In case you missed my first nail look, it was inspired by all things mermaid and you can find it here. I guess you could say I’m carrying on with the mythological creature theme as this look is all about pastel hues, reminiscent of the ongoing unicorn trend.

Mint green is my favourite and this week I went on a mission to find the perfect polish of that very colour. After perusing the cruelty free offering at my local Boots and Superdrug, I settled on “Sugar Apple” from the Gelly Hi Shine Barry M range. Incidentally, they were on 2 for £7 so naturally, I picked up a lavender blue pastel to compliment the green, “Prickly Pear”. On getting them home I opted to pair them with “Fondant” a paler purpley pink from the same range that I already had.
I really like gold and green together so used a gold holographic glitter polish on my mint nails to create an accent. The one I used is an old non-cf varnish but you can pick up a similar one from Models Own new range, Fiesta.

All 3 of the Barry M Gelly shades are opaque after 2 coats and as you can see from the photographs they live up to the "Hi Shine" part of their name. I’m really happy with how the look turned out; I’m a sucker for pastels. My only gripe is they seemed to take forever to dry but that may just be me behing impatient where I haven’t painted my nails in a while!
What do you think of this look? Have you tried any of these polishes?
